DH and I checked in to a BW view 1BR last night (we switch
to a STD view tonight). I thought I'd share our view this
morning. :)
It's going to be hot today! (possibly record breaking- lucky us-LOL)
The BWV are being updated. We are on the second floor. Our carpet
looks new. The stove (with a flat top cook surface) looks new.
But, no flat screen TV....

They ihome's are definitely new, they weren't there in December during our stay. We're heading to the BWI in a few weeks, can't wait! :excited: Is the welcome centre still open on the Boardwalk DC ? I thought i'd read somewhere it was closing.

New lamp in LR.
We checked into our new STD view room and guess what?!
It was ready at 11:03am!
Our STD view is an excellant location-on the 1st floor
and close to parking. This room has not had the makeover,
yet.
When we were checking in the CM said all the rooms will
eventually has all new appliances, new carpet and flat screen TVs

Paula,
Hopefully they will have everything complete in time for your
visit. :)
The DVC model on the Boardwalk was open. I noticed they had
many of the upgrades in the model (they also had a pretty fancy
phone-not sure if that is what all the rooms will get)
They said there are no plans to close it because it still generates
a lot of interest.
We stopped by Welcome Home Wednesdays. In addition to
the game and prizes, they interviewed Kevin Deters (director of
Prep and Landing). He showed a clip. It is a Christmas special
which will air on ABC ON Dec 1st. I think it's going to be a good one. :)
The give away upon leaving was a white DVC hat.

Yup, the countdown has begun . Marie leaves Saturday for the DCL Eastern ,:ship: then we meet Marie & John around 2:00 at BWV's . Can't wait we had a blast last year at The Beach Club, but I don't wish her cruise to sail by either .

Great photos - fab view
We went in the DVC model and was chatting to the guy. It had all the new furnishings in and he was explaining how the new sofa beds are improved on the older versions. It did look very nice. We then went on to the Open House Tour/talk from there.
The main building itself is covered in scaffolding which was a bit ugly - but guess has to happen for the work to be completed.

Paula,
They did a makeover at BCV last year.

had the new carpet and they were doing
the upgrades floor by floor....

This is our view from our STD view room. I like this view, too.
Yesterday, I was asked which was my favorite DVC resort --my
answer was the one I'm staying in. :). (That same answer
applies to the view. ;) )

Last night, we looked at menus around the world showcase. We are
going to try a couple of things for lunch. Then, this afternoon we have 3 culinary demos to attend.
This evening we are dining at Narcoosees. We hope to catch a glimpse
of Wishes (or Hallowishes? I believe they have MNSSHP tonight). We didn't
get tickets for MNSSHP this time. This visit is going to be a very relaxed
pace. :)

way for your favorite room category to be available. :)

Bad news Deb-
I just looked it up and it doesn't say anything about Swan Boats at the Swan and when I stayed there last year I didn't remember seeing them because Vinny woiuld have wanted to take one for a spin I am sure.

The shower head is pretty fancy. (See the hidden Mickeys?)
It has different settings if you turn it--including what I call "the gentle rain"
setting :)

The full length mirror in the BR also has the darker finish. I took this picture because of Tink... She doesn't really fit in with the theme, but she matches the mirror perfectly. :). (She was on the mirror of our original BW view room)
I went to the model to see if she was on the mirror there, but nope. I guess she is one of a kind. :)

The view of the Yacht Club from your room in this picture is what sold us in buying BWV!:thumbs::thumbs:
We loved staying at the Yacht club so much and it was costing us so much our own travel agent recommended us to buy into the BWV before it was closed up. And here we are some 10+ years later and loving it!
I personally feel and have posted on the boards there is no better location, Location, Location in WDW than BCV! It is awesome!
We are taking our Daughter to a 2 BDRM with Board Walk View this summer for her Sweet 16! the girls will have the view in your picture!! I cant wait for them and it will be a blast! Finally the first time we are reserved in a Board walk view, and will get a Board Walk View.

PumbaNY,
I love your story--and what a cool legacy. Your daughter must
have been about 5 when you first joined? Did you imagine then that
she would be spending her sweet sixteen at the BWV? :)
I am soooo glad BW view is a booking category. It is
always a special treat when we book it.

She was I think 5 and my son was 9. We just are a disney family. We get really sad when we go for a long period without being there. But We were fortunate to be able to have DVC as our way to get to the magic. I have to say we have had some bad years financially and there was a great risk of losing our DVC membership. Those years of disney visits were some of the best family moments we have had. We never sit down at a table when all are around (Son is away at Ithaca College now) and the topic of one of our DVC trips comes up.
I was injured on 9/11 and was out of work for 5 years which caused a medical & financial disaster which led to bankruptcy. We were very financially stable before that date, which allowed us to afford the numerous trips to WDW , and after it took years to get back on our feet. The reason I am telling this is through the Bankruptcy I was on the phone with the DVC legal dept.. at least 1 time a week, and they were fantastic! They understood my situation and the trustee doing the Bankruptcy also had a great interest in our DVC. But in the end I had a call from DVC and she said your case is complete and you are still owners! It was one of the most significant good news we heard in 5 years, they even allowed us to use the points not processed in the years in limbo. They (DVC)were the silver lining to the cloud over our heads!
I would recommend any family on the fence of joining that can afford the the membership in DVC you truly are getting a great company that does care and they have given our family great memories.
My daughter is on the boards talking of the planed trip also she and her friends are very excited.
