Here are a few tips and tricks to help you get the most out of these boards.
If you have any to add, just reply to this post.
If you have any questions, please start a new thread.
* To see all new posts since your last visit, click on 'view new posts' below the buttons on the top right.
New posts will also have an arrow next to them.
* Can't find the smilie you want? Click on 'get more' underneath the main 15 smilies, for a greater selection.
* Click on the 'user cp' button (top right) to access your control panel. This is where you'll find your private messages, you can edit your profile, buddy list and ignore list. Click on 'edit options' and you'll find a whole list of options you can change, including your avatar (small picture under your name when you post), the style set (different colour of boards), and more.
* For quick access to your private messages, scroll down to the bottom of the boards and click 'private messages'.
* If there is a particular thread you're interested in, go to the bottom of that page & click 'subscribe to thread'. You'll then get an email when someone posts a reply.
There are lots of other tips, but I'll leave it to others to post them
;)

Thanks, sometimes I want to know more about what goes on in a thread but i don't have anything to post myself (thus I would not receive an email notifing another post had been made) So it just clicked that I can subscribe and then I'll be notified. :)
I like the feature at the bottom that shows all the people who are on the site, and then if you click on the heading Currently online (or something like that) it shows you who is doing what. It doesn't really serve any purpose, it just makes me feel that things are happening in "real" time.

Help!!
I looked through the posts but can't seem to find the answer to this one:
How do I add a photo to my signature line so it comes up with each post? (Don't forget, I'm the computer illiterate one). I was able to add it under "edit picture" under my profile but I can't figure out how to get it to show up with my counter on each post. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!:afraid:

you need to have it hosted somewhere. Photobucket is my favorite with my favorite price - FREE :D

the problem with imageshack is they now size down the photo to a thumbnail which I find irritating.

 You have to find a site that will "save" your picture with a link. That way you can put the link in your signature.

I'm clueless in knowing how to add a photo to my profile, without losing what I already have posted, which is merely my countdown timer. In other words..."How can I add pictures/photos to my profile?" I see other members have personal photos posted, but I can't figure out how to do so myself.
I have photos stored on my computer, but don't know how to add them on this specific site.
Could someone please explain how I can. I just can't seem to figure this out. Thank You!

you need to use an image hosting site such as imageshack or photobucket. they're both free. You register for an account and upload your photo. Be sure to resize it before you upload it since the forums have a size limit of 200x200.
when you upload your photo to photobucket or imageshack you'll get a link that you can put into your signature. It begins with [img]

Just copy the parts you want and put it between the [quote] brackets

So I copy/paste all of the quotes I want to have? What does the multi-quote button at the bottom of a posting do? If I copy/paste, how does that pick up who the original poster was?

^^^^^^^^^^

Each quote has to have it's own at the end of each. If I put them in, you can see the text)
To get the name of the person you're quoting, it should read [quote=USER NAME]

If you click on the multi quote at the bottom of your screen for each person you would like to quote then it will copy them into your reply once you click on the reply button.
This DOES NOT work for Quick reply I do not believe.

, it's only picking up part of the first quote.

There are two quotes there, your coding is wrong. you had an extra [quote] because it was in the part you were actually quoting
ThinkTink

All I did though was click the multi-quote button at the corner :sigh:. I'll have to read the codes to see what I'm adding/not adding to make them mess up.

I do it manually, it's easier and quicker
