Hi everyone!
I would love to hear what you think of this ride and whether you think it would be suitable for my 5 1/2 year old son and 9 year old daughter. They are not roller coaster mad (or phobic either) but particularly my son loves Spiderman. I've read loads of reviews saying how innovative and exciting the ride is but how many kids go on it and do they enjoy it? And how exactly does it work - is it like a roller coaster or is it like the STar Wars ride - a motion simulator? (Would I feel sick by the end!)
Many Thanks
Allison

My six year old son loved the ride when we took him a couple of years ago.

It's difficult to describe but the best I can come up with is that it's a cross between the Back to the Future Ride in 3D and a roller coaster (not big drops or loops or anything scary that I can remember).

It's one of the best rides in the park so I wouldn't miss it if I were you.

This is one, if not the greatest ride I have ever been on. I highly recommend that if you can use the single rider line, use it. It will save you so much time. My 6 year old son has been on it several times. He cheers on Spiderman as he fights the bad guys and saves us. I have never been Rollercoaster mad, but this I love. You do not have to worry too much about your children getting too scared. They should be fine.

I highly Reccomend you give Spiderman a go. Its a 3-D motion Simulation type ride, throw together Back to the future, MIB the ride and Muppets 3-D and you'll come close to picturing Spiderman, but it has to be seen to be believed. Just awesome!
I guarantee your kids will enjoy this ride!:)

I LOVE this ride - I even love it as much as Tower of Terror...
I think your kids will definitely enjoy this ride - there's all sorts of brilliant effects used to make it so much more than a normal rollercoaster or simulator.:hehe:

Hi Allison,

This is a must do ride (I was on it 6 days ago with my kids) and agree with the other that it is a 3D ride and stimulator all in one. Try and sit at the back as you get a much better ride experience than at the front or in the middle.

Its what.. 4D? If you've been on Terminator, its like that, things shoot out at you and stuff, spiderman fights off the villians and you sit in a car and go around a building on a track and spin around. Its a great ride I recommend it highly.

Thanks for all your comments - I think that we will give it a go! I feel reassured by your thoughts and I have also read that the cars you sit in only actually move 12 inches up or down at most - so even I can't feel too scared about that!

I have to disagree with BarbaraUK. I love sitting in the front of the "car." I find that effects better. I think that the heat and other effects are better in the front.

Our 4 year old loved this ride , but my kids are fearless little tykes!!!
It has stunning special effects and I think this is the best ride IOA has to offer - It is very realistic, do not compare this to Star tours. You do get jolted about quite a bit and there are simulated drops which are very convincing. :ears: :usa:

I agree - I think the simulated drop was much better in the front:p

Spiderman had to be one of the most impressive rides going.

Did you know that each car has three computers controlling it?
Or that it's one of the most expensive rides going?
Or that the simulated drop is supposed to be about 400 feet?

There you go, some useless info for y'all!

Thanks for the useless information. You cannot get too much of that.

I rode this ride three times Sunday when I was there. The key to this is the Single Rider line. Most people do not know where to find this. If you go into the shop at the end of the ride, you will see a small area at the exit that has the line. You will not see anything telling you tahe this is the single line, but just go down it and next thing you will know is that you are close to the cars to get on. My son and I did this and we were able to stay next to each other. They state that there are no guarantees that anyone will get to stay together. I was going to ask that my son and I stay in the same car, just different rows. I did not have to ask because we were able to stay together each time. We rode the ride three times in the amount of time it would take to wait in line. The only regret to this is that you cannot get the picture with Spidey in the Daily Bugle. We have gotten this picture in the past before Ii found out about the single line.

I didn't know about that single-rider line ... It's definitely a good time-saving idea; the queues on Spidey can get sooooo long:rolleyes:

I thought it was the best ride in the whole park - awesome! I'm sure your kids would love it too. The 3D effects are excellent - definately one to go on.
