DH and DS did this and loved it in January. I chickened out. I have done tower of terror and liked it but I worry about motion sickness on the hulk. I had no problems on Rock n Roller coaster at MGM. How do these coasters compare on a vomit your guts out scale ?

I brave the Hulk.

I too was a coaster wimp but the Hulk drew me in. It got a hold on me and I was determined to conquer the Hulk. Via an express pass of course, standing in line would give me time for second thoughts. The take off is awesome, like RnR Coaster but you're outside and immediately get flipped over. It's a very smooth ride all round. I never for one moment feared losing my breakfast. In fact I came off and went straight for a large ice cream.

I say this has a very low vomit factor. Which is just as well, as it would just fall through that netting that stops stuff falling on people walking under the ride.

Ok now I have a challenge. On my next trip I must try the Hulk....

I braved The Hulk! As Dawn mentioned, the take off is great - I think its the best bit of the whole ride.
I didn't even think this was as bad as Duelling Dragons, I seemed to move around on that more than The Hulk.:hehe:

You've got me scared already, a whole year before we go.
I get pretty nervous queuing for It'a A Small World.:D

I agree with MINNIE_M about the take off, its so cool.
My son Adam who was 8 at the time and me of course did the HULK. We got a little carried away and went to BG and did the rest of the coasters.MONTU, DUELLING DRAGONS.

The Hulk has to be one of the best coasters going, that and of course, Montu at Busch Gardens!

I wouldn't say it was vomit-inducing, so long as you don't sit at the back! You tend to get thrown around a bit more there.

I can't wait to have the opportunity for me to take the kids on - they're 6 and 3 respectively, and are dying to get on it!

Maybe next time! ;)

How brave you are to go on that even though you're not one for going on rollercoasters;)
Did the sight of it not put you off?

If you can do the Rock 'n Roller coaster you can do the Hulk. The take off is not as intense and it is a much smoother ride. Not vomit inducing at all.

I just love the Hulk! It is a very smooth ride. If you did Rockin Roller Coaster, you can do this. I always have problems keeping my eyes open, and this time I did, and it's fantastic! The Hulk looks a lot worse than it actually is. The first time I went to IOA I wouldn't do it, because walking right next to it scared the heck out of me. I bet if you could see Rockin Roller Coaster you may have been afraid to ride it as well. Just don't have a big meal before you go on. I don't think you'll have any problem. The coaster my husband and I liked the best was Kracken at Sea World. I think we rode it 9 times! Montu at Busch Gardens is great as well. Dueling Dragons was a scarier in my opinion than the Hulk, but give it a try! I regretted not doing them, the first time we went, and I am so happy now that I did! Just think of it this way, it only lasts around two minutes, and then it's over, and think of how proud you'll be of yourself when it's over and you can brag to all your friends that you did it:)

If you visit IOA the hulk is a must. The ride is smooth and nearly silky and what has to be one of the best openings to a coaster.
The back is good you get to see the screaming faces (joy not terror!!!) of the other riders. My personal preference is the front row, hands in the air feet off the the floor, this gives one hell of a buzz. Then sit back arms waving and enjoy the ride.

Don't forget to smile at the camera, check the photos at the end (always good for a chuckle) then go back round for another ride.

Duelling dragons is good especially the front row, remember to look for the doors when you exit the ride to change to the other coaster, this saves walking through the castle again. :hehe: :bounce: :hehe:

I braved the Hulk. It was not bad. I use to love Rolercosters befor i have my daughter but for some reason after i had her i did not go near one again. But when we were in line for the hulk i was almost in tears. like i said it had been a long time since i had been on one and my hubby was laughing at me.as i was sitting waiting for it to take off i was so scared. but once it took off i to was laughing.it was great. we went on it 3 more time after that and the last time i went on it it was at night and it was even better.

Sorry got put my two cents in here.

I am a roller coaster fan. I love them. I had no trepidations about going on the Hulk. While I agree with everyone that the take-off is awesome and it is a smooth ride, I don't agree that it is tame or the same as Rock N Roller Coaster. I got pretty sick after riding on this one. It is very constant, it never slows down. You just go go go. I could have been having an off day. I'm not saying I'll never go on it again. It's an intense ride and I'll probably try it again someday, but if you are not comfortable going on it, I say skip it. There are plenty of great rides at Universal and it would be a shame to be sick and have nausea on one of the days you've paid the sometimes expensive price to be there in the first place.

I would just like to say, I have gone past R&R COASTER, so many times, and thought I wish I could force myself to get on it. I normally am not one to go on rollers. Then my DH went on it impulsively, he is definately not a roller man! He came off it and said it was brill! So, I thought if he could do it, it cant be bad.
After going on it, I couldnt wait to get on it again, now I feel the same about hulk, I will be going there again, and would like to try it, but do I have the guts? Does it make you dizzy as you can see everything? Does anyone besides one person, not recomend it.

:) :hehe: :( :hehe: :)

I think the run up to take off makes the whole thing seem more scary then it really is. Does not compare to the thrill of Rock'n'Roller coaster though.

Just a side not, the hulk is the number 1 coaster in all the world for 2002

I've braved it-too many times to count

Slower than RNR though

RNR=60
HULK=42

The Hulk is definitely a great coaster, I've been on it many times, and not once have I felt sick. Same with RnR.

Have you rode RNR before. The take-off is excellent.

Yes, only the once though, trying it out again in June. It's fast and thrilling but I don't get the same rush you do when you can see what's coming up next. Also found it a bit loud but, like I say, I am going to give it another bash.

My DH has always been terrified of coasters, until he finally braved RnR. Think it must have been because it was in the dark and he couldn't see what was coming.

Since then, he's been hooked, absolutely loves the Hulk, and every coaster besides.

It was ideal with going in January, there were no queues for anything, and even though we go through child swap, we both managed to go on the front line TWICE!

We're just waiting now for the kids to be big enough to ride so we can get the opportunity to ride together....
