My Universal planning video came the other day. Thankyou to DAWN for the link to the application site.:)
I am very impressed with the way it is put together, however it just proves that Universal is not a patch on WDW. It shows you the resorts and guest rooms and they do not appear to be half as nice as the disney ones, very plain I thought, and the pools look like ordinary hotel pools. I am glad I got this as I was thinking of staying a couple of nights at one of the universal resorts, but now I would much rather stay onsite at Disney.

Disney is better by far because of :
parades, shows, theming, fun, magic, imagination, and family friendliness.:ears: :ears: :ears:

However I do like some of the IOA rides, like the jurassic park river ride and superman and Dr seuss area. I would not miss Universal studios - I only liked the men in black ride.

Walt Disney World Resorts

How did you get a video? When I asked them they said they didn't have any, and could just send me a pamphlet package.

I have stayed at Portifino bay, and the Hard Rock, and believe me the rooms are much nicer than WDW. Although I like WDW better!!!!:ears: :ears:

We went to universal and only spent about half a day there in June.. it felt really really empty and lacking in atmosphere.

Since I've been back loads of people have enthused about it so I
keep thinking we missed lots.

Can't say the video made me regret much though.... perhaps a few things we should of done, but lots of thrill type rides which I don't go on anyway.

The video in question is a joint venture between Universal and Virgin Holidays and has been made specifically for the UK market. They're trying to lure our lovely £s away from Disney.

It's not a patch on Disney but they have some great rides etc there and we spent a day at each park and had a great time.

We went to Universal Studios as part of a trip in '97 and enjoyed it OK but haven't bothered since. Thinking about possibly doing a couple of days in one of the hotels and doing the two parks sometime in the future. Disney will always be the best though, it's about atmosphere not thrill rides for me.:ears:

We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel for three nights in April with our 12-and 14-year old boys--after staying at the All Star Music for four nights. My boys loved IOA--thought it was the best day of the entire vacation. I loved the room and the pool; granted, we didn't stay in a "luxury" hotel at Disney, and the ALS was adequate, but the Hard Rock was really nice, even with the lowest priced room. Using our room key as a fast pass was a huge plus, too.:)

I like universal because you have to treat it differently than Disney because they are two totally different theme parks.......i love going to all the disney theme parks but i would never miss a trip to universal because of T2 3D, JAWS, BACK TO THE FUTURE because these are some of my favourit movies. Can't wait to go IOA as they were building it in 98 when i was last in the Mouse's part of the world
