I learned this info from the local newscasts. I DID NOT go anywhere near this madhouse yesterday!
The mall opened at 9:45 a.m. 80 of the 150 stores were ready leaving almost half, as yet unprepared for customers.
There is over one million square feet of mall shopping space and 4500 parking places. The parking places were gone very fast in the morning, leaving a HUGE traffic jam.
I-4 was a parking lot. Between the Disney Golf Classic, the opening of the mall and Biketoberfest in Daytona, traffic both east and west bound on I-4 was incredibly heavy.
Cartier's has a pearl necklace that can be customized to your liking. Starting price for the "basic model" is 20,000. It runs up to one million!
Shoppers mostly browsed and claimed there were great sales on merchandise. Many shoppers believe that the mall will be an attraction in itself for purposes other than shopping. (???? Not sure I want to know what they meant)!
So, once the hullabaloo dies down it may be a neat place to visit (must admit the Apple store looked pretty interesting) but I can't imagine when that may be. Not much of a shopper, so I'm not going to brave the chaos anytime soon. :D
