Welllll :ears:
I had only just found this site a little while before we went... (it was a bit of a spare of the moment trip too!)
After booking, I thought what better place to propose than our favourite place, WDW! so I started looking round for places to go.
Victoria and Albert sounded perfect! We both love nice meals and it sounded like it would be a great place.
After a couple of posts, Goofy Guy and I sent a couple of private messages about V&As but then trying to get work out of the way so I could go, I didn't have a chance to get back to him to book :-0
On the plane on the way over, ring in pocket, I thought oh well, perhaps I can just do it during the fireworks or something.
We got to our room, and there was a message to call the front desk.
When I called, they said that a "goofy guy from the internet" had called and needed me to call him.... Since Helen was in the room, no chance I could do that, so I said thanks and hung up.
All the next day I tried to get a few moments alone, no luck :( (that and carrying the ring around was really starting to worry me)
Back to the room again and another message to call GoofyGuy..... this time I was lucky and managed to return the call.
GoofyGuy had already booked us a table and prepared everything for the proposal :bounce: We ended up changing the time :) but that wasn't a problem and everything was set.
We had a great day at the parks the next day, and to finish the day, I suggested we have a nice meal somewhere ! Helen changed into her nice dress and I wore my suit at which point she started getting more than a bit suspicious :)
We got to the Grand Floridian and wow! What a place... despite being a bit late, we met GoofyGuy at the door and said hi and he opened the doors.
I can still remember Helen gasping :) She says it was like the scene on Titanic where they open the doors there (I have no idea what she's on about, but ok!)... but it really did look amazing.
The menus had our names on, and even though I'm an amazingly fussy eater, there was something in every course that I liked!
I sneaked out half way through to give Goofy Guy the ring :)
Finally, after having been nervous all through the meal, it was time for desert. Helen reached over and said how wonderful everything had been, and I smiled....
Goofy Guy came over with a silver plate covered with a silver dish... and said to Helen, I have something here that Keith has prepared specially for you and lifted the silver dish...
Underneath was the ring surrounded by Rose petals :)
I don't think she knew what to do or say but she managed to blush :) and put the ring on.
Everyone congratulated us and Goofy Guy took some photos for us.
Our waitress "victoria" ;-) came out with new menus that this time had Congratulations to Keith and Helen on your engagement on them.
We had desert and it was time to go... Said thanks to Goofy guy for all his help, and he gave me some very special souveneirs to remember the evening.
They'd called a taxi for us and on the way out all the CMs in the Grand Floridian congratulated us and asked us if we'd had a good evening.
That's our story :) ok, I'm not the most original guy in the world, but we'll always remember the evening we got engaged... and we're getting married at the disney pavilion on Dec 14th :bounce:
Disney was already a very special place for us, but now it's even more special.

Keith - you romantic you!
What a wonderful story. Such a happy moment for you both to keep forever - and still the wedding to come.
You must pass on some tips - best I could manage at WDW for DW was " Fancy a burger at Restaurantosaurus!" :D

Tell yah, if the queue hadn't of been so big at Restaurantosaurus, that's where it would've happened!
40 minutes later and I was glad to just get my fries never mind in the mood to propose ;-)
