Hi,
We are traverling on 1 dec and wanted to book a dinner show.
They all look good but which is the best?
Pirates, Arabian, etc etc ...
Cheers
Rob.

You mean the off site dinner shows, yes? Much depends upon the makeup of your party. Do you have children with you?
What do you normally enjoy? Does eating without utensils sound like fun? Do you like mystery?
With a little more info you will get responses that can help provide the info you want.
I've attended the Medieval dinner show. It was ok with respect to food. No utensils, the children there seemed to love this aspect. The entertainment was pretty neat, with the release of the falcon being my favorite part. It was dusty however and this isn't necessarily a good aspect for dinner!

The Medieval one should be good for you with your children.
The basic premise is this: You are given paper crowns that have patterns on them. The location of your seating drives the pattern that you recieve. During the jousting events you are asked to cheer for your knight (colors match the crowns) and ultimately one of the knights wins. Will it be yours?
There are servers (slaves and wenches  ) who bring your food and drink. There are photos that are taken of your family and available for purchase at the end.
The show is pretty good! But again, given the live animals (great huge horses, etc.) the dirt arena does kick up dust.
This is relatively easy to get to. It's on 192 (east of WDW) close to the huge superwalmart. (If you are traveling east it is on the left before you reach the superwalmart).
There is a "museum" and some other things to see, but if I remember correctly, they cost in addition to the dinner show.
There! Hopefully, someone else can give you descriptions of the other shows.
I've "heard" that Wild Bill's is good as is Arabian Nights (which sounds similar to the medieval show).

Ive been to a couple, Medievil Times is excellent and would reccommend it, the kids are sure to enjoy cheering on their knight and eating without that pesky cutlery;) I also went to Wild Bills, good entertainment but food wasnt that special. It's based on the cowboys&Indians theme and if you like that sort of thing is worth a look. I know of another 2, Arabian nights and Capones(mystery, gangster type thing) which may be worth thinking about too. :)

We went to Arabian nights in January. Its like a love story with lots of horseback acrobatics. The food was actually good. We had salad, prime rib dinner, and frosted cake for dessert. As much wine or beer as you could drink too. It was inside a large stadium and it was very full. I felt sorry for the waiters, they were very very busy. It was hard to see what you were eating, quite dark. It was also quite chilly in the stadium, they had air - con on to stop the performers and horses overheating under the large spotlights. They incorporate the food serving part ito the storyline (you are dinner guests at a royal banquet). Considering this was free as we attended the Virgin welcome meeting, It was OK. Otherwise I would rather stay inside WDW for entertainment, and food.

Sadly the best "Wild Bills and King Henry's Feast" have now gone.
Arabians - Okay, but I know it sounds silly, but you have to REALLY like horses to enjoy this one. Food is pretty average
Medieval Times - Okay. Entertainment is good. Let yourself go and shout for your knight. Medieval Life exhibition is also good if you arrive early enough. Note: Small charge to go into the torture part of Medieval Life. Food is above average, but you have to badger your waiter/waitress for pitcher refills.
Sleuths - Murder mystery show. Haven't been since '94, but at that time did not think it was for kids. Lovely meal.
Pirates - Left halfway through. Thought it was tacky and not entertaining at all. Food was dire and service terrible. Complained and got a refund.
Magic - New dinner show at Wonderworks. Unlimited pizza (if that is what you like, otherwise no good) and drinks. Service was good and you did not have to ask for anything. Show was brilliant and left you wondering how they did that. Both my wife and I and one of my kids volunteered to go up on stage. Best show around.

Was King Henry's Feast the one where you were at a Royal Banquet hosted by King Henry and they picked someone to be Keeper of the Salt and if someone wanted salt they had to send their wench to fetch it in her hands?

That's the one. Was a good show, but I guess if you have seen it before then you wouldn't bother on a return holiday

I highly recommend MT. I have gone there three times and have never had a bad experience. The show is great and the food is wonderful. If you have ever seen the Jim Carrey movie, "The Cable Guy", they filmed part of the movie there. I have never seen that movie because I am not a Carrey fan and I understand it is terrible.
I would also recommend the Hoop-De-Doo Review. What fun! The singing and all the food, my son had a fantastic time.

Hoop Dee Doo, Hoop Dee Doo (singing as I type).
I love the Hoop Dee Doo. It is fun, food is decent and unlimited. I just really like this show. It is fun!

I have done Arabian Nights and Pirates and they were both totally awful, I would not recommend either of them. The only one that was any good was King Henry's Feast, everything about it was brilliant......very sad that it's gone :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(
Oh well, lets hope Dolly Parton can live up to expectations when she opens her Dixie Stampede in May! ;) :D ;) :D ;) :D

We just saw the Dixie Stampede show recently in Pigeon Forge, TN. IF I ever do it again, I must remember to aim for the earlier show - and sneak in flatware. We could only get into the later show and by the time dinner was served, neither of us had an appetite - and I really don't enjoy eating with my fingers! I much prefer using flatware...

We used ticketmania for all our ticket and reservations.
They make reservations for you at the dinner shows even if you don't buy the tickets from them.
Very good and got e-mail the booking details next day.
They only book a couple of weeks in advance but I always got what I wanted.

I'm a bit late to this thread, but I wanted to add my vote for Medieval Times. I made resi's just by going to their website & calling them. They will tell you where you can pick up discounted tickets as well. My DS and DD's loved this show. We all really got into the show and although I personally preferred Hoop dee doo, their first choice was Medieval and I think w/ your children's ages, they will enjoy it. I do agree w/the comments that the servers could have been a bit more attentive, and it is hard getting used to no utensils, but hey that's what vacation is all about.:ears:

We went to this one a few days ago I have to agree with Trev, this really is a great show!
It takes place in a smallish room with a small stage at the front and long tables in the rest of the room.
I wasn't wow'd by the room ;-)
It was only half full when we went so I began thinking hmmmm maybe this isn't such a good idea.
Anyway, the servers turned up and immediately got us some large glasses of wine and then started putting large pizzas out.
They refilled the glasses all night (hic) and there was plenty of pizza. (and I really mean there was LOTSSSSS of wine flowing which no doubt helped with the magic element of the show ;-)
The magic was performed by two guys who really were very funny indeed.... Although the magic was pretty tame compared to the vegas shows, it was entertaining and the humour made up for the lack of wow factor in the magic.
There was probably more audience participation in this show than I'd encountered anywhere else! (SCARY!)... your chances of being put on stage and made fun of in this show are high.
I did my "I've had too much wine to even look in the right direction" position to try and avoid getting picked. (it wasn't difficult given the amount of wine I had actually drunk).
Everyone around had a great time (even those who stuck with pepsi) and the whole experience was really good.
It was also REALLY cheap compared with the other dinner shows around $17.95!
We also tried arabian nights and were disappointed.... lots of money for AWFUL food and servers who were really out for all the tips they could get.

After going to Medieval Times I've only got this to say.....
I'm going back again next time!
What a brilliant night, food was great and although there was set times when they they came round with the jugs of beer our server kept coming back as he had beer left over.
Excellent job getting people to cheer for their knight and it wasn't too dusty either with all the horses.
Only down side was that a lot of the action takes place in the middle so if you're sat near an end the view isn't so great.
The fighting looked very genuine (Except when they fell off their horses, for obvious reasons that was very controlled) and great big sparks flew off the swords as they struck each other with a mighty noise.
Definately not to be missed!
