any DVC families of 5 out there?
We just made the plunge and BCV is our new home! During the decision process I spoke to 2 Disney DVC salespeople (Celeste and a guy, can't remember his name), and both told me that 5 can stay in the 1BRs. They said there's no bed for the 5th but they have families of 5 stay in 1BRs all the time, and not just when the 5th is in a crib. You can use the cushions from the sofa bed for the 5th.
Well, we just got the membership package (very nice, by the way), and it says maximum occupancy for a 1BR is 4. Am I going to have problems? We based our decision on 1BR points. |

This is an age old problem (well as old as the DVC). When I purchased I was told essentially the same thing, that I could put as many people as I wanted in a studio!
I've not heard of any real problems with this. Now, there are other members who raise a holy ruckus at this topic and start spewing venom at the mere thought. Yes, the "rules" do say only four. But, and it's a big important but at that, you purchased believing your guide. Don't worry about it, carry a sleeping bag and have a wonderful time! (Remember too, that you won't have any extra towels, etc. for the 5th person so you need to plan for that). By the way, WELCOME HOME you new DVC member you! |

Thanks for the welcome!
They did tell me that we couldn't have 5 in a studio due to fire code issues, but said it was ok in the 1BR.
I won't know for sure for a while. 1st trip will be in the fall in a 2BR with the grandparents. the next one will probably include the other grandparents in another 2BR. I'll let you know how the 1BR thing goes in 2005!

My first thought is "how bad is the kid sleeping on cushions in the floor going to gripe". If you have 3 kids you'd have to do some rotate plan. All I know are my two spoiled princess' are griping because they have to sleep on a sofa bed. And from what I hear it's pretty comfy. They want to go back to OKW so they have an actual bed. Ugh!

We are getting 2 studios, hopefully when we book and it is cheaper to do this for the times we want to go. This way the kids can have their own and the baby will be with us!
If worse comes to worse we will get a 1 bedroom. |
