Housekeeping for DVC members

I just filled out an online survey for Vero Beach. In it I used the opportunity to gripe about DVC members not getting housekeeping/mousekeeping every night. Am I wrong in feeling slighted over this? Does anyone agree with me that we should get it? Do you think it will ever change?

Hot topic to be sure! I don't want daily housekeeping if it means higher dues, and it will. The thoughts behind the charging extra for housekeeping is for those who want the service to pay for it, instead of having everyone pay when many don't want it on a daily basis.

I don't mind the four and eight day visits. Also, I like not having strangers in my villa on a daily basis.

I know that some folks really miss it though.

I`m with Tink on this one. Anything to minimise the cost of the annual dues is fine by me.
On the other hand, it`s only fair that anyone can get a daily service if they decide to pay for it.

Yes, I suppose that would be the thing they would do is raise the dues. Don't need that to go any higher. I just think it should be part of it. Not even a perk. I just think it should be a standard service as when you pay for a hotel room by the night. But, I've never rented a "condo" at the beach or anything so I don't know how it works. Is it standard to not get housekeeping when renting a condo?

I agree with Tink. if you want it pay for it. The dues are already high. I would like to see more discounts on food and shopping and the park passes.

I want it, I don't want to pay the ridiculous amount they ask for it.

At a regular time share, the unit is clean when you get there. period.

My parents own a time share--I know it's not the same as DVC, but there are easily accessible trash cans so you can empty your wastebaskets from the room, and usually a vacuum and basic cleaning supplies (glass cleaner, paper towels, etc.)

Short answer is: I think that it is standard operating procedure for time share properties not to have maid service at all.

I am not sure with all the extra things you pay for on your vacation, that many people would pay extra for housekeeping everyday even if it was offered.
I must agree with Tink that I kinda like not having people in my room everyday. But being a messy person - my unit looks like a tornado hit it by the time we leave!!
