WDW wedding w/out the Disney planners? - Disney World

Does anyone know if you can plan a wedding at a Disney location without using a Disney planner?

Wellllllll........

I imagine you could... you could hire the location and arrange whatever you need to arrange.

In practice they make it pretty difficult by including clauses like "no photography" and so on when you try and book.

ALSO Disney charge contractors like external photographers etc. to do business at disney.... so before long, booking seperately starts to add up to the same amount as it would've been to get the minimum disney package anyway.

I do think it ought to be possible though with careful planning ;-)

Thanks KeithOP, I going to do some investigating and I will let you know what I find out. Unfortunately it's not me I was married the good old fashion way 7years ago, (but 2007 I will be renewing Disney style) I have someone asking me questions so I thought why not ask all the Disney experts out there.

sure ;-) well I can't see any reason why just booking a location wouldn't work! will be interesting to see what you find out though.

The Disney planners I had last december were worse than useless

so any way to avoid them and save money by having olp do it or something has to be a plus!

I am with OLP but I have never done a wedding without going through Disney. (hehe) So I guess I have some homework to do.

yep, I am the newbie to OLP. I am sooooo excited

to have joined their team. If it wasn't for this meesage board I would have never of found them.

KeithOP, what do you mean by "no photography" clause? Does that mean outside Disney professionals or do you mean that not even guests can take photos? Have decided to renew our vows, trying to decide on the location.
