Disney Wedding - Packages or Not?!?!
We are considering a Disney wedding for December 2004 but are really confused and don't know what we should go for.
I have seen on the disney website about the Intimiate Wedding Packages but some travel operators offer different things and Disney also do their own. Has anyone gone it alone and book their own or its it more often than not that you used what Disney is providing??? Also when I looked on the Disney Wedding Website on some packages it includes 4 nights in a disney hotel, we will be having a two week honeymoon there any way so don't need this, can we asked for this to be deducted?? Oh so many questions (apologies) but I really don't know where to start. We are going to ring up and request the wedding brochure to have a look through to start with. I would be really interested to hear how you have booked your Disney weddings if you don't mind sharing with me.

Hi Lisa,
First of all, you don't need to pay for the 4 nights in a hotel, disney tickets etc so yep, you can get that deducted (we did). Many tour operators include a wedding outside disney.. virgin for example, and I'm sure redkop will say more about that. The Disney packages are expensive (gulp) as you will have found but at least to be fair to them, everything is very well taken care of. Im pretty sure you could book things yourself seperately but you would have to be a bit careful about making sure all the bases are covered. By that I mean there can be a fair amount of extras here and there which the packages include but would bump up a diy booking. |

The best thing to do is contact a Wedding Planner @ Disney if you want it on their grounds and get an idea of what your budget is.
We started planning last May for a wedding in March 04 and it has come along better and easier than I expected.

Re: Disney Wedding - Packages or Not?!?!
Hi Lisa,
We booked our WDW wedding through Virgin Weddings, they have been good so far. Any extra queries I have had I have contacted Disney. For example, we have booked the Luau at the Polynesian for the night after the wedding direct with Disney. Honestly, once you get started you'll get on a roll!! Good Luck, all the best Bec |
