another cruise/dvc question
oops. I forgot. I was also wondering about room upgrades. Do they tend to give upgrades to guests paying cash first or are we better off booking at a lower rate and hoping for an upgrade?

I have not heard of upgrades
We have not heard of upgrades, since most of the time we travel is during peak times that is probably why, maby others who travel during slow times have heard of upgrades. The ships I would imagin go out at a pretty full booking rate and I would guess upgrades are not common, But like I said I have not heard of upgrades on the disney cruises we went on, or are booked on for this year.
