Help Please

as you know mandy and i and the kids are going to wdw for 4 weeks from nov 15th this year

mandys divorce has just come through and she has hinted that she would like to get married while we are there

we would have liked to get married in side wdw but the cost frigthtened us off when we saw the video and price list +as there are only the 4 of us we think we would look lost in the wedding chapple

can you lot please help with this load of questions

is it easy to get married in orlando
is there somewher near wdw to get married
what is it like if there is
how much is it
would we need witnesses and if so are they easy to find

the only thing that worries me is that we would look really "sad " and boring with just the 4 of us there , i know we are thinking of getting married there to save all the hasle at home but i think weddings need a few more people around to make it fun.

basicly any ideas you have on this would be really great

we are not definate but it is a big possibility

also the first week of our stay we are at the CBR are there any benifits of getting married from there

my other thought is it is mandys birthday in the 24th november and that would be a great day to get married ( never forget the date that way) and if we did it that day i would love to book a one night stay at the grand floridean -- the questions on this are do they do one night stays and if so approx what would it cost at that time and would it be worth it ?

thanks guys

im normally great at sorting stuff like this but my brain has just gone to jelly
this is my 3rd wedding and i did the whole thing myself for the 2nd one with no worries so i dont know why im like this now

Re: Help Please

Hi Steve......guess who!!

You couldn't consider having it a bit later could you? You could have me and some UOG friends as *Rent-a-crowd*!

Seriously, Keith got married in WDW and Redkop got married outside WDW. Both, I'm sure, can point you in the right direction.........unfortunately neither are here right now. They keep telling me they have a life!!

They'll be along and help you out, I just arrange the after wedding parties!

Re: Help Please

red runs in from the pub you mean i have a life queenie ,yeah stevie me and mrs redkop got married at cypress grove here. it was set in a park but we had the house and the grounds behind the house to ourselves, it was flat so your daughter wouldnt have a problem in her wheelchair, getting married over there is dead easy, 3 days before your wedding you need to visit the cout house in kissimiee, i think Tink would now the directions, you fill in a form, pay your fee..........i think it was $88, get your licence and then off you go to your wedding, there was only 4 of us at ours and we had a great time, any other questions just ask and i will quiz mrs redkop

Re: Help Please

There is a place on 192 (east) called the Little White Wedding Chapel. Folks get married there in droves. It's close to WDW, but that's about all it has going for it.

There are lovely areas surrounding WDW. Leu Gardens in Winter Park is beautiful, Bok Tower is too (but that's about an hour away). There are areas on the boardwalk and at the Swan and Dolphin (outdoors, but I'm sure there are indoors too) that see folks getting married all the time! It is fierce on WDW property though!

You most certainly can book a room at GF for one night. I couldn't tell you how much it would be, but it will be costly, most likely. Only you can decide if it is worth the price. You'll be checking in around 3 pm and have to check out by 11 am.

Does it really cost $88 for a license? Wowie! That's a lot of money as far as I'm concerned. From what I understand though, it is a relatively painless process at the courthouse.

Re: Help Please

thanks folks please keep ideas coming
yink you said

does that mean expensive ? im struggling with that one
dont like the idea of a one hour drive from the wdw area i am not that confident driving in the states alway conjvinced ill gert lost this is from past experience !!

i have always fancied staying in the GF and i think that would make it that little bit extra special after all you only get married once , or in my case 3 times !!!!

Re: Help Please

Last year, we stayed at The Swan and there were a few weddings on. One couple were having their photos done in front of the fountains and Mickey was there all dressed up in his Tux, he was sooooooo handsome!

with WQ, the chapel would never look empty with us lot there

Re: Help Please

Yes candyman, sorry. I do mean that a wedding of any sort at WDW is very expensive, but I would guess (and I am only guessing) that having it on the side lawn at the Swan or at the covered gazebo like area at the EPCOT end of the boardwalk would be less expensive than in the wedding chapel on the GF grounds. However, I'm not sure about that!
