Train costs

I am going to WDW with some friends in June after graduation. I was wondering how much a roundtrip train ticket normally costs. We live in Pa, and would probably depart from either Philly or NYC.

Re: Train costs

Amtrak is always posting cheap fares. Your best bet would be to go to amtrak.com and check it out. Subscribe to their newsletter and they will notify you when fares change.

Re: Train costs

Also try e-bay. Amtrak puts REALLY good deals up for bid, but you have to check frequently to get the route you want.

Re: Train costs

Just went to that link and I found out it would take me 3 days to get to Kissimee, and I'd have to go to Chicago and Washington! What a long way to go to WDW!

Re: Train costs

Bev-
There is a much more direct route from Texas. I think it runs every other day, so doesn't always show up in your search. I think it is from L.A. through Houston, New Orleans, and ends in Orlando.

I've been on the Houston to Tucson route several times....it didn't make sense that it wouldn't show up on the site. I've even got a brochure somewhere about routes and it shows a more direct route than Chicago and Washington.

I would really like to do the train at least once...to Kissimee...just once.

Re: Train costs

Ive taken the train several times up to DC (and Philly since that is where my family is from). Fares are about the same if you get off in Orlando or Kissimmee. Transportation to DW is another factor. If you take Lynx your gonna have to go through downtown then out to DW and a taxi might cost an arm and a leg
