AS vs POP - Which is better for transport?

Hi All,

DS (then aged 9) and I will be going to visit Mickey in May next year! Less than 200 days away!

My question is which of AllStars or Pop Century is better for transport? I don't drive so we will be totally reliant on buses or taxis, and the last thing I want is for it to take us longer than it needs to for us to get around.

All suggestions welcome!

PS I just realised today that my son's 9th birthday will be on Thanksgiving - I know he'll be thankful

Keep in mind that there are 3 All Star Resorts and they have a tendancy to share buses. PC has its own bus. Therefore I would rate PC as slightly better.

Re: AS vs POP - Which is better for transport?

We were there in the summer and we found the queues for POP looked horrendous (sp?) but AS was not so bad, especially at MK. They tended to have one bus for ASM and one for *** and ASMu

Re: AS vs POP - Which is better for transport?

I honestly don't think there is much difference, between the resorts as they are both values. Also, I've been on some deluxe resort bus routes that were way worse than any I'd ever been on from one of the values!

Disney transport is usually quite good and if you allow enough time (general plan is to allow an hour when attempting to go between resorts and about thirty minutes when going directly from resorts to the next destination) you shouldn't have any trouble.

Don't forget that there are ferry boats and monorails too. They are useful only in limited instances when staying at the value resorts, but useful none the less.

Re: AS vs POP - Which is better for transport?

We stayed at Pop las august.

The buses kept coming, so that was a good thing

The bad thing was that, the lines for getting on the bus, especially outside MK was GIGANTIC, so you could easily spend an hour waiting, even with buses coming and going ALL the time.

Re: AS vs POP - Which is better for transport?

Just stayed ay POP a couple weeks ago. We never waited more than 5 minutes for a bus, at opening or closing. If the lines got too long they just called for another one. Once they even had my daughter call for a bus. I have nothing to compare to since it was our first trip to WDW, but I was very impressed with POP's busses.
