Car pick up at MCO?

When I pick the van up at MCO (across road in parking lot) how would I get back to pick up family?
Obviously, DH won't have the ECV at the airport so he can't walk to the van.

Would they have to wait for me on Level 2 or Level 1 where car pick up is?
Wherever it is, how would I get back there with the vehicle?

Sorcerer Mickey! got any maps for this one?

Re: Car pick up at MCO?

You'd have to go out of the car park and circle around. The signs are pretty good there. I think your family would wait on level 2.

Would the airport allow you to take one of their wheelchairs to the parking lot? A skycap (porter) would require a tip, but it would make the transition easier for your DH--and return the wheelchair to the terminal!

Re: Car pick up at MCO?

Thanks Johnie, Taj.

Yeah, I suppose I could get a Skycap to walk/push him over. It's only across the road, after all. Why didn't I think of that?

If they won't..............I'll circle the airport.

Re: Car pick up at MCO?

Not sure if it works the same on international flights, Queenie, but when you check in, you should be able to request a wheelchair be available when you land. They will bring it to the door of the plane, so your DH wouldn't have to walk too far. I'm considered "able-bodied," and after just a five-hour flight, I'm hobbling a bit until things begin circulating again!

Sometimes you also have to mention it to the cabin attendants, as the request may be transmitted again in flight.

We did this for my mother's last trip to Las Vegas. She really wanted to go, but wasn't up to walking a very much. Then we had a rental push chair delivered to our hotel and went all over the strip! She had a ball!
