Getting to Universal

I'm staying on International Drive and not driving, am I right in thinking you can't get to Universal on the I Ride? Our hotel does a free shuttle, but I want to be able to go to Citywalk at night and maybe pop to Universal for a few hours in an afternoon.

How can I get there?!!!

Re: Getting to Universal

Hi Ben

Yes you're right - the I-ride doesn't go to Universal. When we stayed on I-Drive we were opposite W&W and actually managed to walk to Universal on a couple of occasions. It is quite a walk though - especially if you're going to be on your feet in the parks afterwards! Also it is along very busy roads - lots of noise and fumes. The other times we were there we took the hotel shuttle there and then got a taxi back when we were ready. The taxi didn't cost very much at all and it just meant we had the freedom to leave when we wanted.

Good luck!

Niki

Re: Getting to Universal

We stayed on I Drive too and our hotel's free shuttle ran until about midnight I think. Taxis are cheap though as it's not very far, and there are always plenty of them waiting.

Re: Getting to Universal

We paid about the same as Jenna when we stayed on I-Drive, just opposite Wet and Wild. We thought it was cheap too!

(There were 4 of us too)

Re: Getting to Universal

Don't forget the bus. You can get a Lynx 21 from Universal to the corner of Sand Lake and International Drive, then transfer to the 8 or 42 which go down International Drive. It costs $1.25 per person. I'm not sure how late they run but you can find the schedule on golynx.com.
