From the airport to SOG
It's too bad the new Disney shuttle won't drop you off at SOG. So now I'm trying to figure out a way to get my parents from the airport to the hotel. We are driving down, but we have a 5 seater car and there are 4 of us. So we're one seat short. It will be a hassel for my husband to drop us off at the hotel, then drive back into Orlando to pick them up. I assume they have shuttles that will go from the airport to SOG, what are some of the more reputable ones, and an estimate of the cost?

I wonder how much a cab would charge? Once we booked through Mears and the wait was horrible. Yes we paid for Mears and abandoned it without even trying to get a refund. Kids were staaaarving and as alway on our trips (sick) so we took one of those gray suburban cabs and they charged about 40 bucks to drop us at the contemporary.(very close to SOG) Before getting in one I suggest making sure he will give a flat rate. Just in case of traffic you wouldn't want the rate to increase. This rate was for a family of four with 3 suitcases. I wonder if a cab would charge less for just one person.
I don't know the number for the Orlando Cab service but wonder if you could call them and ask how much it would cost to get to SOG.

Taxi from MCO to SOG (or any WDW resort) will be based on initial fee, mileage and wait time. If it gets stuck in traffic--or you have a creative driver who wants to make money--it can be very expensive!
Definitely would recommend booking a towncar service in advance. Mears is okay, but as previously noted, there can be a considerable wait and many stops to drop off at other resorts (not all WDW--just depends on their routes).

I believe that buried somewhere in JuniorMickey's photo collection is a photo taken at the Orlando Airport that shows the different cab and shuttle prices.
