Non-Direct Flights
I've got a good price for flights £338 but this means flying from the UK to Canada and then Canada to Orlando.
What are your opinions on non direct flights is it ok, does it cause much more hassle?? Lisa

Re: Non-Direct Flights
Given the choice, I along with most people would always opt for a direct flight.
Sometimes connecting flights are unavoidable and there are always those nagging doubts in the back of my head...What if my first flight is delayed, causing me to miss my connection?...Will my bags be transferred ok?...Will I have to walk for miles to the next departure gate? etc.etc. Also, there is the extra time involved to complete your journey to consider. If, however, you get a really good deal on the fare and you can put up with the hassle, then it may be the way to go.

Re: Non-Direct Flights
agreed.. I've done them before to get a good price but the travel seems to take forever and often gets to wdw really late. I'd still do it in preference to not going though!

I can't tell you until I go. I could only get Air Canada for Christmas.

Re: Non-Direct Flights
Hi
I'just returned from Krakow in Poland . We normally fly direct but this year due to circumstances beyond our control we had to fly via Vienna, We were due to fly out of Heathrow at 0930 and had a 40 min coonection at Vienna, We were still on the runway at Heathrow at 1015 , We were coming into land at Vienna at 1310 and our connecting flight was 1315 . They then announced that our connection could not be guarenteed. We disembarked and ran across Vienna airport and just mad the flight which they had held. We got to Krakow but unfortunately some of our luggage did not . It arrived next day . It was a very stressful trip . Barry

Re: Non-Direct Flights
The stop over times for each way at Canada were 2hrs 30 minutes, I don't think i would go for anything like 40 minutes because of the delays that happen.
We are suppose to be paying off a few credit cards this year, but i really want to go back to WDW.

Re: Non-Direct Flights
was looking at this this morning funnily enough - Some of the flights that go via canada or Atlanta actually take of really early in the UK - 9am ish - so they get into Orlando before the direct virgin flights do. Would be OK for the outgoing but when you are tired coming home may be more of a hassle/
Still as Keith says if it means you can go - gotta me worth it ![]()

Re: Non-Direct Flights
We leave Heathrow at 9am. Arrive in Toronto at 12.10 (EST) Leave Toronto at 15.40 and arrive at MCO at 18.31. 3hrs later than on a Virgin flight but the only other option got in at 23.30!!
Coming home we fly via Montreal. |

Re: Non-Direct Flights
I don't seem to suffer that badly from jet lag, its the coming home bit I find hard, adjusting back to normality and I find it takes me a good week to adjust my body, whereas when we get there I don't feel the jet lag that much.
